re_dance
In the past months the re_dance platform has been working on a Germany-wide online survey on the topic of parenthood and dance, which was addressed to all parenting professionals in the field of dance, both in freelance and employed work relationships. Up until now our work was mainly inspired by qualitative data collected by Katelyn Skelley through direct Oral History interviews with various parenting dance artists over the past 4 years. Thus, the aim of this survey research was to collect more quantitative data to be used for formulating concrete proposals for politicians, administrations and the dance industry. This time Katelyn collaborated with Rosa Daiger von Gleichen - empirical social researcher and expert on work-family balance at the University of Oxford and Goethe University, Frankfurt - to design the first version of such a survey. We are happy to announce that we are at the end of the survey process and would like to invite you to join the online webinar in which we will present main outcomes and open up different conversations to collectively expand our information pool. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Sunday, 4th Decembre at 16:00 - 17:30. We invite everyone who is interested in the topic even if you have not done the survey and we also encourage non-parents to join us as we also aim to promote mutual understanding for each other’s situation. The three main topics of this webinar will be: scheduling (both work and childcare), how finances play a role and travel & touring. There will be different breakout rooms to facilitate more concentrated conversations.
Presented by Katelyn Skelley. Moderated by Amelia Uzategui Bonilla and accompanied by the rest of the team of re_dance platform.
