SOLOCOREOGRAFICO Solo Dance Festival - FRANKFURT 2022 "SOLOCOREOGRAFICO - YOUTH" Sunday, 23.10.22 - 15:00, 12€/8€
This year's edition of the festival is the first to dedicate an entire programme section to young dancers, dance students and young amateurs who are enthusiastic about dance. SOLOCOREOGRAFICO YOUTH specifically addresses young audiences and up-and-coming artists who aspire to a professional career and have already taken their first steps on this path. In the dance workshop section, one or two workshops are held daily for children and young people who are enthusiastic about dance. Solocoreografico Youth was launched this year at the Teatro Cafe Müller in Turin. Like the established professionals, the young dancers in training bring their own small solo works with them and are given the opportunity to present and test them in a professional setting. Gaining stage experience in front of an audience is very important in the learning phase. The solo is an excellent format for this. Young dancers (age categories: 12 to 17, and 18+) can apply to participate by presenting a solo work of max. 4 minutes. There are up to 30 places. All those registered will take part in the festival on an equal footing, in the order of their registration. From these, three young dancers will be selected by the jury for a travel and performance grant to present at the Solocoreocrafico edition Turin in early 2023. The exchange will be reciprocal. Accordingly, the winners from Turin 2022 will be represented in Frankfurt with five works at the solo evenings on the 21st and 22nd as well as the 23rd. The aim of SOLOCOREOGRAFICO YOUTH is to make dance at a high level more accessible and to offer young artists a professional environment in which exchange with already experienced dancers and the international community - the connection to an international network - is possible. In addition, fresh ideas and approaches by young dancers will be made tangible for the Frankfurt audience for the first time.
