In a perfectly ordinary town, on a perfectly ordinary street, there is a perfectly ordinary house with a perfectly ordinary theatre. In this perfectly ordinary theatre sits a perfectly ordinary audience. “We are not ordinary at all”, says the audience. That’s right. Nothing in this theatre is ordinary. Certainly not this handsome and thoroughly witty gentleman in his prime, who appears and disappears at will, brags, shows off and lies through his teeth: “My name is Karlsson. Just Karlsson and nothing more.” Karlsson floats through the window into Lillebror’s bedroom and causes quite a stir: He is radical, rebellious, self-absorbed, chaotic - and captivatingly charming. He allies himself with the audience and sets off on a collision course with all authorities that define childhood: parents, educators, older siblings, theatre technicians, adults in general. TheaterGrueneSosse presents Astrid Lindgren’s classic as a vibrant solo performance. Using the magical means of theatre, the audience and performer Arthur Romanowski co-create the rebellious imagination of Karlsson, who literally makes things dance.
