ANTANZEN | LAURA HRGOTA-JANNENE

Laura Hrgota-Jannene from the north of Germany, is a performance-artist based in Frankfurt. She studied contemporary dance at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing arts. Throughout the years her interest travelled from ballet to contemporary dance to mime and performance-art. For the Season 20/21 she has joined Dancetheatre Heidelberg. She created her first solo "Solo mit Leiter" in 2020 for a theater festival in Limburg and made her first film "Loom" in 2021. Other pieces of her are: "in Riga with four colleagues" and "Worldbuilding" (developed in the frame of a residency at ID_Tanzhaus FRM in 2021) in collaboration with Guillermo de la Chica López.

Her current piece "Watch out" is currently in progress. She is attracted to process-orientated work and since she had a longterm relation-ship with ballet in her youngster years, she is more keen now to explore the odds and experimental sides of dance and performance. She is working on ways of how to make dance inclusive and shift views on the dancers body, questioning what it means if one talks about ,,classical’’ or ,,professional’’ dance.
